Share Capital
The total nominal value of shares issued by a company, representing the equity invested by shareholders.
In practice
UAE free zones vary widely on minimum share capital: IFZA, Meydan, JAFZA, ADGM (Cat B), DIFC (private) all have no statutory minimum; DMCC requires AED 50,000. Offshore (BVI, Cayman, Panama) have nominal minimums (USD 1). Authorised vs issued capital is a separate concept — authorised is the maximum the company can issue without amendment, issued is the actual amount in shareholders' hands.
